Dual Family Shoot

This was a fun and challenging afternoon at the grandparents' home in a quiet Ashland neighborhood. The more people, the more directions to run in, well, in particular when involving little ones! Cousins Levi & Wyatt ran free much of the time, but took a few moments out to listen for the trains coming by a few streets over. Wyatt also kept busy with his big brother, Mason, who gave him a piggy back ride and played peek-a-boo with him. Luckily, we even had time for some combined family shots!

Another Milestone for Sam

Samantha's now 9 months young and cute as can be... She was showing off her standing skills, but also all of her absolute cuteness!

Hangin' with Jaxon Koi

Its funny how kids go through ages and stages and you tend to forget sometimes when they have outgrown some things... Koi reminded me of how curious and quick on his feet my little one was at about a year and a half old. Yep, Koi kept us going and there was never a dull moment. It was fun experiencing this time in his life when everything is so interesting and exciting. I think his mama was about ready for a nap by the time we finished up...come to think of it, I think we all were! :) So glad we could get together for some photos before they had to head back down the road...

I had fun meeting up with this family downtown for one last shoot before daylight savings time ends! We had no problem getting lots of shots in before dark and I enjoyed doing so with them... Thank you guys for the change of pace :)

Meet the Family

A new tiny addition to the Fox Family, we celebrated by capturing some precious first moments of this growing family. I think big sister Skylar is proud to have new baby brother, Miles! Congrats!!

"Me" Time

Building on my last post, we know that quality time with family is super important. However, having time for ourselves, apart from the little ones, the daily grind, and to just do something we enjoy, is just as pertinent to a happy home as time spent together. On an added note, I also enjoy a variety of subjects, so this was a fun shoot to mix things up for us both!

LADIES ONLY PHOTO SHOOT - 11/13/10

I am hosting something fun, exciting and different at my home studio...a Ladies Night Photo Shoot. Making Time for Family

Another recurring thought I have had, especially since my son arrived in this world - is how fast time flies. Sometimes we just have to take time away from the craziness and running around, for family. I had fun with this family at the park, snapping away as they enjoyed some quality time together.

Erica - Breakout (for both of us)

So I am always interested in branching out into different types of photography...something new, something I haven't done before and Erica gave me that perfect opportunity. She is not only family, who is in her senior year of high school, but also a gorgeous aspiring model. We had a fun time checking out a new city with different little hidden funky places, perfect for a photo shoot. Follow your dreams, girl :)))) I am also posting the "rep card" I created for Erica...

Carrie & Jeff - Engagement

This was a super fun shoot downtown involving a very sweet, very much in love couple :) We had a good time beating the sunset with lots of stops along the way for all different backdrops. It was nice getting to know the couple a little more before pics on their big day in 2011!

Milestones #1

The first of a series of three sessions that are part of a Milestone Package I offer, here are some shots from the six month session, documenting Samantha's sitting skills :) As parents, we wish we could bottle these special, but often fleeting moments, so I try to give them the next best thing.

Sky Part I

This was the first attempt at photos to celebrate Sky's 1st birthday. I had an idea of doing some shots on a farm, however, after the 45 minute drive, we arrived and quickly found out that the very cordial and accommodating person we spoke to earlier on the phone, was clearly NOT the owner who was there in front of us telling us we had 15 mins before we had to leave. Well, let's look on the bright side, we did have 15 whole minutes to shoot :) We made the most of it, however, baby girl wasn't feeling the change of location, so we only got a few shots and none of Mama and Skylar together...

Wilburn & Dickens Pastries

I love food, and yes its no secret, I love photography. I also love seeing people working hard to grow their businesses. When Alicia, owner of Richmond-based Wilburn & Dickens Pastries asked me to photograph her delectable little confections, I was happy to help create some mouth-watering images to display on her website. The bonus? She gave me lots of yummy goodies to take home to my family.

Candice & Family

Photography has really opened up a new world to me in so many ways. Along my travels, I have met many great people as well, including Candice...a fellow photog who has shared lots of ups and downs of this awesome journey with me, from celebrating the next exciting shoot to the maybe not-so-exciting convos about post-processing. I think we have found both friends and of course photographers for ourselves and our families, in one another, something that is plus since we are always the one behind the camera! With that, here are a couple of glimpses from the last shoot of Candice and her adorable little ones, at the sunflower patch...

Beautiful Summer Night

We decided on a location that is a personal favorite of mine. Mainly because it has some natural beauty, being located just beside the James River, but also having the option of using the train tracks for a different look, both of which kept little Madilyn busy and the rest of us on our toes! Best of all, we were blessed with beautiful weather, so I would say this was an overall success.

Mother & Son Bond - Nothing Like It

Mothers hold their child(ren)s hand for a short while, but their hearts forever. This saying came to mind when I was looking over the images from Lenise and her son, Tenel's photo session. It is awesome the love and sweet bond that they share. Lenise is an amazing role model, a strong, independent woman, as well as an awesome hair stylist, so please contact me for more info on how to reach her!!!

All Smiles

Look at that precious little face - Isabelle Rose, "Rose" for short was just about 3.5 months old and could not have been sweeter...a first baby for Mama, Megan. Carrie was an awesome assistant, btw...who I will be seeing a lot more of her in the future, as I will be photographing her wedding next March, as well as doing some engagement photos for her and her fiance, Jeff. Looking forward, as well, to the family session of Baby Rose with Mommy & Daddy in September!

Exploring the City

So Sunny and I like to just head out and explore on the weekends when the hubby's in school...so the start of our Memorial Weekend landed us near VCU...we had fun checking out the city...doorsteps and window sills, and fun graffiti :) My kinda start to the long weekend!
